Meet Wendy

Wendy Whitehurst is the Founder of Her New Wings, a company dedicated to helping women navigate life transitions—whether through divorce, the loss of a partner, or major life changes—and empowering them to manage new responsibilities like home ownership, finances, and personal growth. Drawing on her own life experiences, including navigating three marriages and raising two daughters, Wendy knows firsthand the challenges women face when building a new life, and she combines empathy with practical guidance to help them soar.

Wendy is passionate about connecting people, finding opportunities in challenging situations, and helping others realize their full potential. Her personal journey—balancing career success with motherhood, grandparenthood, and life’s ups and downs—fuels her commitment to Her New Wings, where she empowers women to regain confidence, independence, and clarity during transformative moments.

A seasoned marketing and business strategist, Wendy brings nearly three decades of experience working with national and regional financial services companies including AAA, Aetna, AMEX, AssetMark, Discover Card, GM MasterCard, Raymond James Financial, and LPL Financial. For 25+ years, she has served as a marketing consultant through her firm, Next Level Advisor, helping businesses grow and refine their strategies.

A native of Charlotte, NC, Wendy holds a BA in Economics from UNC Chapel Hill and an MBA from Queens University in Charlotte. She is a Certified Divorce Specialiast. Wendy has been recognized as one of Mecklenburg County’s 50 Most Influential Women (2012, 2018), and her company has received accolades for making a difference in the community. She has long been involved with charitable initiatives, including the Curry Celebrity Golf Classic benefitting the Ada Jenkins Center, LifeShare, Lake Norman Community Clinic, JDRF, and Hope House. In 2023, Wendy received the prestigious Paul Harris Fellow award for her community service.

Wendy enjoys time with her two daughters and two granddaughters, family & friends, tennis, walk-running, pickleball, live music, exploring new restaurants, and enjoying car shows.
